As it grieves my heart

I lay down my heart as it grieves
I dig up a hole for the past to be buried
I handle a needle and thread to patch up your lies
as it grieves my heart to say goodbye

Loving you was a complete loss
but it's better now the hurt is dawning
soon the pain will be over
and I won't have the aching need
as it grieves my heart to say goodnight

As I finally stand at the graveside of my mind
I hear your whispers one last time
as I feel the pain inside rising
my candle in the dark gets brighter
as it grieves my heart to say one last goodbye

I like the rhyming to it, and
'I handle a needle and thread to patch up your lies'
    is a great line.
    Well done.
