Tears ask why without
questions, as heart hits
rock bottom.
Stained pillows leave clues of
mascara's sad reply and
the silence of dead phone
stabs faint hope.
Emptiness sleeps with the
loneliness of cold sheets.
Rasping breath caresses
quivering lips,
pain of gasping
is buried with sobs chant.
Where is sleep?
Drooping lashes laugh as
swollen lids pretend to dream,
and breath bundles a sigh
of wishing death.
