At times I choose to sit
devoid of all wit;
doing very little
feeling noncommital.
Then...
a memory of you
brings
your face into view.
My composure is spent
double-over and bent.
I jump up and cry
out loud to the sky.
Thanks for the insight
and showing me the light.
Before the indoctrination
was complete,
love beat a hasty retreat.

Absolutely wonderful! I think of meditation and insight when I read this--a more transitional phase. This is definitely something I can relate to. Thanks for sharing! I love everything about the poem and would change nothing about it. Congratulations on the honorable win!

Maybe you are hungry, or just ate something that doesnt agree with you. Love and food are close to the same feeling. lol. Seriously now. i enjoyed this script. it is well done, rhymed and with articulation. i particularily like your style in the poem, how the stanzas are set. good luck.

Oh, I love this! So expressive in brevity.
The rhyme is such a tasty part of this.
Beautifully done.
