The beach sonnet

Waves ponding on the shore,
Seagulls calling
I wish I could join them and soar
never falling

Playing in the sand
Sun shining bright
Sailing, no sight of land
Sun glinting off the water with glimmering light

A castle by the waves
surrounded by a towering wall
Princes, Queens, kings and knaves
Abandoned, left to fall

Nature succumbed what was great
not to early not to late!

  • Pretty zany lilt here MusicTennis. Runs evenly to the last line. Imaginative descriptives.
