Winter’s light

Early winter afternoon,
It is so cold and already so dark,
voices, almost unreal, coming from afar.
Was it the sound of your paces nearing my side?

I look back, still walking alone.
I pick the rhythm of a waltz
and I dance and whirl and twirl around,
spreading my arms, eyes closed,
until I fall on the white blanket
like an angel falling on white fluffy clouds.

Snowflakes,
my silent companions reflect their secret inner light
gently settling on my open palms, one by one.
The sky's shrine opens letting go of all stars,
my heart opens letting them all in, singing.
And I smile.

Your poetry always fall in soft shapes ...

no matter what the theme. In this landscape of snow, your dance of dreams to the music of the soul touched me deeply. Congratulations on a well deserved HM.

    Love

    Hello Sonja

Mmmmm....rich in visual and Theme........even though I have read this Theme more than a few times....I enjoyed your version very much -

You were cautious as to not use lots of Fillers and ruin this precious gift of Poetry -

Such a long time between Poetic Vouices...it is good to have a Poet who gets back to the basics and writes from their imagination and past memories.......I really liked this a lot -

Yes, there were/are a few areas I would edit out some words, but you did keep your Tone Poetic, and that is all I ask for.....nice job....I was right there with you when you fell into the pile of snow and began creating your very own Angel....*sigh* .....very nice.....I expected no less from your quill,

    ...God bless & good luck,

    Bear ~

Title   9.6...I do not believe I would have clicked on this Title.....but I am glad I did (well, I had to...hehe)....nonetheless, the Title seems to not do justice for this beautiful write....or, maybe it does -

Flow  9.7....for me.....your Flow is good....your Tone is splendid and you penned it pretty straight-forward....allowing me(the Reader) to absorb all of your thoughts before moving on to next thoughts -

Depth   9.95..excellent use of information in just 16 L's -

Theme 9.45...choosing the right Creative Theme is the Challenge in the PO' Contests..you did good here....just a tad common, but penned with heart  -

Feelings   9.75....you had me from the beginning.....just a tad short on Impact.. -

Grammar   9.65....as I told another Poet, some nice Mets would have enhanced this write...pretty straight-forward grammatically....**like an angel falling on white fluffy clouds**.....that L is too common for me -Presentation   8.9...not a fan of long S*'s.....reads more as a Short Story if done with more than 16 -30 L's -

Uncommonness....9.55....clever Theme, a tad common, but....your Poetic Voice is beautiful -

Sit & Ponder Affect  9.55...I did ponder....brought back lots of good memories -

Ability to follow Rules  10.0...perfect....nice job  -

    Bears Score: 96.1

Very nice Sonja....no editing once a Judge has touched your work -

what a charming image of reality dancing with fantasy, the virginal beauty of falling flakes marrying the virginal warmth of open palms, the dance of human and nature delineated with such tenderness and subtlety... a most sublime creation, sonja
