Baby Don't You Make Me Cry (Chicago Blues)

Why oh why        Oh baby
Why Oh        Why oh why
Why oh why        Oh baby
Baby don’t you make cry

I get up in the morning, like most married men
To put the bread and butter, on the table again
Come home from work early, my heart you rend
When I find you in bed, with my best friend

Why oh why         Oh baby
Why Oh         Why oh why
Why oh why         Oh baby
Baby don’t you make cry

Built you a dream house, with beautiful things
A luxury car and a diamond ring
I ask for breakfast in the morning, supper at night
I come home from work, you’re no where in sight

Why oh why         Oh baby
Why Oh         Why oh why
Why oh why         Oh baby
Baby don’t you make cry

I’m a simple kind of man and I don’t ask for much
All I wanted in the morning, was a gentle touch
But you sleep with the sun and rise with the moon
You’ll dance for the boys, when they play their tune

Why oh why         Oh baby
Why Oh         Why oh why
Why oh why         Oh baby
Baby don’t you make cry

Yea you’re my moon light mama, you live for the street
When the sun goes down, you’re a bitch in heat
Put on this earth to walk the land
Sucking all the life from the boys in the band

Why oh why         Oh baby
Why Oh         Why oh why
Why oh why         Oh baby
Baby don’t you make cry

The kids in crappy diapers and the house is a mess
Every day with you, just puts me to the test
One day they’ll find you lying, face down in the street
A stomach full of downers and a bottle at your feet

Why oh why         Oh baby
Why Oh         Why oh why
Why oh why         Oh baby
Baby don’t you make cry

Why oh why         Oh baby
Why Oh         Why oh why
Why oh why         Oh baby
Baby don’t you make me
Baby don’t you make me
Baby don’t you         make me
Make me cry

  • AH...THE MOONLIGHT MAMA'S OF THE WORLD. I LOVE'EM AS LONG AS I'M NOT MARRIED TO THEM. GOOD JOB AGAIN PUTTING THE BLUES RYTHEM INTO WORDS.

  • Why oh why Oh baby
    Why Oh Why oh why

Love the way you mixed the wording to pause in different sections. This makes for a very good emotional song. That last verse! whew!! I can see it plain as day! Now, aint that the way it always goes in the blues!!

This is EXACTLY the kind of thing I want!
You really understood me when I said I wanted the physical!
I loved it. It's so true! Even though I've never even thought about marriage, I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!

Cleanup: Although I loved your physical, I could have used a bit more of the medaphorical. You sounded a bit scared when you put in the medophorical. You have it going good! Don't hesitate, LIVE DAMMIT LIVE!!!

Thank you. I wish I could hear it.

wow, my first song! kinda reminded me of a Dr Hook song and also a little bit of Chris Isaaks "Baby did a bad bad thing". The girl sounds like a proper nightmare too, poor "idiot" who tried to marry someone who was married to a band. nice steady rhyme and feeling of resignment. good luck in the contest
