Bringing the Light

The sky is dark with clouds and rain
As people pass me by
I hold my special raincoat out
To keep them warm and dry.

The downpour washes over me,
My clothes are poor and thin.
I'm praying for a hint of sun
To warm my wrinkled skin.

And then amidst the storm and wind,
A sunkissed angel speaks,
And warms my chilled and bleeding heart,
The balm its beating seeks.

A bright and happy springtime breeze,
A light amidst the gloom.
A saving grace allowing life
To blossom and resume.

Awe dad this is so beautiful. Makes me think of the quote. " A baby is God's way of saying the world should go on" Not sure if I am interpreting this one right, but thats the vibe I get. Love it dad, always a pleasure reading your work, never disappointed. LOVE YOU MORE

I'm afraid I don't know Veronica. But as read in this lovely expressed verse. She must indeed be a bringer of light.

Lovely and well-crafted, with excellent meter and rhyme scheme. I enjoyed the descriptions of nature and your background is beautiful, too. A very nice tribute to your friend.

    ...charming, graceful, noble!

    The downpour washes over me,
My clothes are poor and thin.
I'm praying for a hint of sun
    To warm my wrinkled skin.

This is very easy to read, very down to earth, and still very enjoyable!

    wow

I no what it's like to have downpours pouring down on you. I no how this is after it poured just about every day in Maine before I left. It was very much a pleasure to read.
