A living thing-
beginning with whispers
some sounds made from sunshine's
strands of hair
a guitar of sound
each note different-
born on the wind's shoulders
and lungs's power
blooming like some exotic vine.
Delicate and fragile
or thundrous
manipulations can be made
with tongue alone.
changing and sculpting
mixing and adapting to its surroundings.
Some endangered, some gone-
they can only be studied in books
and faint traces from your tongue
can be noticed
if you look hard enough.
and if you listen
you can hear them all at once
all blending and giving
taking and dying
coming new into the world
and leaving only traces of carvings
on some forgotten stone.
The language is a living thing.
Author notes
Studying Greek with my dad, I learned about all the different eras of Greek language and it made me think of how language is always changing like a living thing.
Enjoy!

This was awesome! And all the more daunting to me because you are so young! God bless you and the talent you have!
"Delicate and fragile

Dear Lord, I have been writing for 30 years... nothing as inspired as that has fallen from my pen!
My only constructive critique would be spell check, and I'm not sure if some lower case words are intentional or not, but just wanted to point em out to you! This was brilliant!

The idea is very interesting and very true. The language is always changing and sadly sometimes for the worse (lik totaly...).
You have some interesting similies here (blooming like some exotic vine), but I'm not sure about this, "a guitar of sound." Isn't that a little redundant?
