Rain drops on my face, reminded of tears
Childhood years, confused, blinded wit fear
Never thought I'd have to make it on my own someday
That everyone who said they loved me would be gone someday
Gettin older, gotta face it, realizin' the hatred
In this cold world of rapists, killas, and racist
We pray then we sin, these the days of the end
Every night gettin' darker, every day fadin' dim
Fed up with lies, my people cryin' for help
They hear, but don't answer, we just cry to ourself
Tellin' each other it's okay, why do we lie to ourself
Everyday we facin' racism, dividin' ourself
And I live this struggle, so I'm used to tha pain
But I must admit I thought of puttin' 2 through the brain
Pull both triggers the same time, give my life to tha reaper
Get away from these backstabbers, cuz the knives cuttin deeper
I never been to the pearly gates, but I dreamt upon a time
No crime, the power of God is truly divine
A world of peace, no drugs or rape in tha streets
Never grow weary, livin a dream; no reason to sleep
No cops to bother me, all the streets governed properly
And I was happy to see that my people escaped poverty
But when I rose to life I couldn't help but wonder
Is there a heaven for me? When am I going under?
Back in the slums; hearin shots from the guns
Savin' up to buy some food, steady countin' them 1's
As a dreamer I find reality, hard to face
Innocent girls forced to live, scarred from rape
Sometimes I sit and wonder if I'm here for a purpose
Is all the enduring of suffer actually worth it?
From my perspective, life is an abundance of questions
And while we're here on this earth, the only answer is guessin
