To Tell You the Truth, I Lied To You

I walk through the halls at school,
A smile never seen on my face,
And I'm always looking at the ground
Holding piles of books in my arms.

I never look anyone in the eye
And I'm always trying to hide it.
When I see you in the halls,
I am tempted to smile.

But then I think of something.
We fought all last year
And I feel like you could never see me
The way I see you.

I'm falling for you
And you don't even know it.
I'm sad because of a promise I made.
Two promises in fact.

Number one was to never stop loving him.
I would wait for him for years if I had to.
The second promise
Was to never fall for you.

I told you last year
That I didn't like you that way.
I told you that I hated you
Because you seemed to hate me.

To tell the truth,
I lied to both of us.
I'm starting to trip over myself
And worry what you might think of me.

To tell you the whole truth,
I lied to you more than once.
All I really want you to do
Is hold me close to you and really care for me.

The questions I ask myself at night
Are crazy, I know,
But honestly I have to figure it out.
I need to know how you feel about me.

Could you really care for me and love me?
Is there even a possibility for us to be together?
Has it ever crossed your mind
That maybe we could be more than just friends?

I dream about you when I'm sad
And you've never failed when trying to make me smile.
To tell you the truth,
I told you a complete lie....

I'm totally falling for you.

Author notes

Amazingly, this isn't about Daniel. It's kinda weird cuz I'm a bit out of practice since I haven't written for a while, but it's all I got at the moment.
This poem is for a guy named Sean. I liked him last year, and I'm totally falling head over heels for him..... again. He's graduating tho, so this crush will probly go away when he leaves. anyway, hope you enjoyed... maybe?

Thanks for your entry...this is more like a story or a page from a journal, but it is a good one. Again, thanks...
