Blind Love

Oh to be touched
she has changed the way she feels
with caring compassion
      about oleander
with knowledge of healing
      and coco butter
with respect
      jars of radiance
a partnership to heal weariness and fear
      kohl around her eyes
relax
      the muskiness of fox
unlock the healing powers of the unconscious
the weight of her body against yours
to look into another’s eyes
    sharing secrets
and feel his hands on your body
feeling all the little bones of her spine
to know that you are safe
    sometimes doing it twice
accepted without judgment
    feet bare
your own comfort level
    a sense of quiet
to be touched
    leaning into her sacrum
but not normally touched
    a warm hug
in places of pain
    sensual risings
or intense fear
    silky thighs
trust
    the body never forgets
and being vulnerable
his gentle tenderness as he turns her over
tension gone
weeping for all the miles behind you
a poem written
your neverborn child under your hands
in the deep tissues of your body
a frozen scapula – press harder
unclothed
    her head resting on yours
connected
knowing she will let you sleep
oh, this is...
            to be touched

To be touched is a powerful sensation. The beauty in it is the tenderness. You have captured that here poet. The imagery in these lines is stellar. Thanks you for sharing your feeling with such fervor.

The image is great but not the one I wanted you to write about in the contest. That said, I like the poem very much, and the form is interesting. That says to me that you must like creative stimulation. Very well done. Love, Lane
