For Thee I love



That day the sun was warm to touch
Children in their summer attires playing blissfully
As men and women frolic in hopes of enjoying
The beautiful magnificence of the day.
The day was as bright as middle July
And was I wondering in a hopeless haze of shadows from yester-year.
My soul knew nothing else but the mournful cry of melancholy
As I became even more lost in recollections of the past.
My heart was iced cold and frosted over for good protection,
For former love's had their beastly ways with my hearts' infatuation.
And yet as you stumbled into my presence with your hypnotizing Blue eyes,
I found myself becoming warm from the inside out.
From one glance at you; my heart's flame, which was indeed dead,
Became rekindled and ablaze within my breast.
My cheek became scarlet, for I knew that I was not easily accustomed
To feeling the emotion that I now felt.
Like My heart had suddenly became alive and well, was performing
Its own dance inside of ribs, causing my pulse to quicken ever so suddenly.
My stomach became, which was hollow and numb from the monsters
Who had made me so dead to the world, was now a breeding ground for butterflies.
And then you smiled at me.
Oh god! How beautiful you were when you smiled at me.
I felt mesmerized from my first glance at you.
You became my prince from that moment.
With just a simple act as a smile, and you so bravely
Fought the demons that controlled my heart's true emotions.
You saved me from those shadows that kept me dead, in the darkest part of my soul.
You became my love, my life, my everything from that moment.
And now as all months seem to be nothing but minutes in time's schedule
I still find myself feeling the same as I did, when I first laid eyes upon you.
How you make my heart flutter with only an utter of a word.
Or how you still can look at me after all this time and I indeed still feel the same
Scarlet fill my cheeks, and warmth from love fill my being.
For Thee I love.

    I'm sorry, this contest is only for poems that were in part one of Give Me Anything. I'm going to have to remove it, great piece of poetry though.
