To write love on her arms

Long sleeve shirts everyday at school
With no friends she meets
Home she goes when it lets out
No conversations in the streets

No phone calls from girlfriends
No boys to think about
Nothing to distract her
From what she thinks about

The red that runs down her wrist
The tears that run from her eyes
The screams she yells in her head
The longing that she can't deny

The feelings of loneliness
And the pain she's had for so long
Leaves her longing to end it
Thinking that no one cares at all

The beautiful tragic markings
She leaves up and down her arms
She never let anyone see
How she causes herself harm

But someone cares enough to look
Someone cares enough to see
The pain she going through
And the beauty that she could be

With the love and help of another
She'll no longer cause herself harm
She has someone to hold her tight
Someone to write love on her arms

  • Aww, so beautifully crafted!
    Love the swirls of hope,
    that bad occurences and
    the past clayed so rough,

    can pull through the darkest
    shadows, and embrace the
    light.

it's always good to have someone
by our sides, to help us through
    the battles.

    Great job!

Best of luck & thanks for entering

    Poignant, Sad, Promising End

I'm wondering, sweetheart, how much of this is true of your life or of someone you know. No one who knows God and Christ is ever alone, is never invisible, and is always heard. Christ is the only one who always will be there; whereas a human might be there today, maybe even tomorrow, then the next they might be gone. Humans are too fickled to rely upon.

You have a lot of talent for writing; however, I do suggest that you take more care to do thorough editing before you put it before the world (i.e. "she" in several places should be -she's-, etc.) So, keep writing, just improve on your editing skills: that's what publishers tag as a good writer, one who edits their work with a fine tooth comb.

    Luv & hugs, BonnieQ
