she draws me to her with a glance
with her motions, with her laugh,
the fall of her hair, the shape of her lips,
sunlight kisses her face, blessing half
i look at her and yes
i choose to be judged against.
i choose the pain,
the hatred sensed
i choose my rights taken away
i choose the fights to explain
i choose losing innocence
i choose the tears and all the pain
sensing that i look her way,
she turns her head in silent agreement
that maybe she is worth the pain
could this love be God-sent?
i'm not so sure about nature
nor nuture to tell the truth,
i did not choose to love her
yet i refuse to hate myself
with her motions, with her laugh,
the fall of her hair, the shape of her lips,
sunlight kisses her face, blessing half
i look at her and yes
i choose to be judged against.
i choose the pain,
the hatred sensed
i choose my rights taken away
i choose the fights to explain
i choose losing innocence
i choose the tears and all the pain
sensing that i look her way,
she turns her head in silent agreement
that maybe she is worth the pain
could this love be God-sent?
i'm not so sure about nature
nor nuture to tell the truth,
i did not choose to love her
yet i refuse to hate myself
Author notes
i had a gay-straight alliance meeting today after school and i was thinking about it so i wrote this. it's not very good but it gets my point out there. i'm bi, btw, and i'm not in love with a girl, nor a guy atm. i just felt like writing to make a point lol.
What did you think?

Form, but free-flowing. I'm all about poetry that pulls together a social issue with your own personal experience! This issue becomes so much more relatable to people who can't understand it this way. -
