I still remember
The watering of your eyes
That fateful September
Of our final goodbyes
They kept trying
To tear us apart
Relentless prying
At our cracked hearts
This isn’t right
Their thoughtless scheming
Not going without a fight
Kicking and screaming
Our hearts were singing
As our love churned
Now we’re going down swinging
Before we crash and burn
I guess they won
Knockout in the final round
Now that it’s done
You cannot seem to be found
There no flowers
No dandelion dreams
Just nostalgic showers
That’s the way it seems
Now I’ve moved on
From this wishful dreaming
Though these should be gone
I still find myself kicking and screaming
Author notes
To all those who didn't want us together for whatever reason and tried so hard to make it happen...I hope you are happy.

I found myself remembering days long past reading this. An old love long gone, torn away much like you described here. A beautifully sad write.

I find myself relating to this very easily, but on such a different level, a lot sadness within your words. Sorry things haven't worked out for you
