Festering torment of your suffering.
Granite memories etched deep within your
Savaged soul blinded you to graciousness.
Agressive suspicions challenged honest intentions
Vicously standing guard to a bloodied hearts knowledge,
of friendship and love.
Pimped by mother, "broken in" by father
Your trust was not easily won.
Avoiding affection and protecting corruption
Hiding the truth of abhorrent behavior...
Mothers carefully calculated brainwash.
Kindness void of expectations,
Layed your exhausted defenses to rest.
Concealing your secerets one at a time
From the tiniest to the large.
Key to my door, access to my home
Rumors discounted and laughing through tears.
Time and patience overwhelmed the demons.
Strength in friendship settled them all
Rightfully behind cold steel bars.
Author notes
The name of the girl(now young woman)is not "Suzy", for her privacy I chose a ficticous name.
She was my babysitter, lived in a big beautiful home and came from an upper middle class family.
This girls story did make headlines once she broke down and told the truth.
Her younger sister adamantly denied that this kind of abuse took place, and claimed her older sister was always lying ( which she often did, a defense mechanism and trait of abused ).
It wasn't until the younger girl was caught shoplifting and the threat of being sent home to her parents became too much that she admitted the truth.
Both parents were arrested about 2 weeks later but spent little time in jail.
Both girls are still struggling to learn how to live...
But both girls now know that not everyone wants something from them and that when they are ready doors are open to them, including mine.

This is such a sad situation, that it's difficult to say, this is lovely, yet, I do appreciate the thoughts you're trying to share, and the fact that you're trying to help someone in this difficult difficult place. Thanks for the honest and your willingness to share. Thanks for the entry.

Thanks for the contest and the HM!
Ironic I hadn't talked to or seen her in over a year but shortly after I wrote this I ran into her.
It was nice seeing her, she is a different girl now and such a loving mother!
It warms my heart to see her with her little boy, and to think that being with my little boy had a role to play in her happiness.
God Bless
