Ballad Of Last Night

The roses in your eyes
Made the half-moon jealous
For it was only your crystal night
That I wished to see.

Your smile never slept
As we stroked the cold river of winter
With our words, embroidered
With soft lace of promise.

The white couch that held us
Was a bed of transluscent stars,
But none shone as bright
As the sunlight of your laughter.

The music was polished and smooth,
It inhaled our every gesture
And exhaled melodies of subtle romance.
Little rainbows wrapped themselves around you.

Symphonies of children
Played in your voice of honey.
It was only to you I listened
As I drifted into the embrace of a new dream.

Like a gypsy in rags
I wish to roam the continents
Of your being: peninsula's of talent,
Islands of silence and lakes of beauty.

If I were to learn a dance
I would ask the North Star
To teach me the steps that lead
To the glimmer of your eyes
Where the Mediterrenean hid all its secrets.

I don't ever want to forget
The way we were last night:
A scene painted by Venus' hands.

Please tell me what you think
