Ek katra banke aankoh main tham si gayi
Aag ki liptay karvaan ko raakh karti rahi
Bachi thodi si khushi naraaz hoti rahi
Katra katra karkey mitti main ghulti rahi
Zubaan par baat aakey khamoshi main khoti rahi
Pal bhar ko khushi kai khwaab mehkati rahi
Veerani zindagi jaltey maum hi manind pighalti rahi
Rait si natamaam jutsju meri mutthi se fisalti rahi
Taptay sehra main megh ki raah dhoondti rahi
Daaman se armaan chut ti rahi
Aag ke sholo main lipti ik begaani jalti rahi…

Timeless memories gathered in a moment
a tear drop hung in the corner of the eye
flames burn to ashes all that was built
happiness angered and upset, left,
drop by drop, the dew disappeared into nothingness
words sprang to lips and frozen thus remained
a moment's happiness teased dreams;
life, lonely as ever, burned and melted
sandy desires slipped through the grip
parched, looking for reality in deserts mirage-filled
seams slipping loose from the cosy jacket
thus licked the flames...burning I lived.
