beneath the force,
colour bruised nail
and awareness
became thought
pained, as many times
before
from coarse touch
softness grew, bled
by years of wear
and tear
sensitively felt – now
an understanding
hammer and nail
became past, pain
a drift into kindness,
where only strength
remains, as echoes
of remind

The lessons learned with pains are so long lasting, whether or not we inflict them on ourselves. We might associate that pain with a color or smell, so that when we bump into it again, it brings the remembrance back, but then the strength that has built from a repeated painful time makes it easier to bear. "echoes of remind" Very good!

Thank you for the HM and the reflection. The 'reference' to your brother striked by heart and motivated my write. Your assessment is appreciated.

The warmth and comfort of soft hands is what I missed most when I was alone.... Those echoes of a kinder, gentler past. I wish you well in the contest.

I felt the molding hands of Love ...
of the Potter and the clay on reading this poem. And the wonderment is: after his Example we become potters too, forming and sculpting our environment, emotionally and physically. And ever the reminder: we are gifted Life in order to restore to the Core.
Thank you so much, Friend, for being a constant in my life.
Love
Myra

I am most privileged to be part of your process ...
and it gives me such glee to meet the new students of each year! It is simply amazing to see how you bond them in such a short while. No wonder your students come back again and again after graduation!

Ek sien uit na die werkswinkel. Baie dankie vir die geleentheid, Frans.

Magnificent
This is a work of art, dear Frans, and speaks so eloquently of the fires of trial and tribulation that temper us into God's image and ways. Beautifully rendered and a message well delivered. I love it! GOLD it is.
Luv & hugs, BonQ
