Each day is like the echo
of a footfall
in a resonating corridor;
The moon rises and sets,
the sun rises and sets,
and not much has changed
of the height of the mountain,
of the depth of the sea,
of the sweeping spin
of spiraling galaxy arms –
those glorious finites
through which progress
the infinite
souls of the Maker’s children.
He invites, instructs,
watches, weeps,
forgives, embraces,
covers, rejoices
over each
who comes to himself,
chooses to make his way Home,
and will have Him
to be their God.

Amazing that within the vastness of the heavens and earth, God reaches out his hand in tenderness to grasp each small fragile hand to guide us home, one by one.

of spiraling galaxy arms
I think that's a really great image, and depicts the massiveness of the universe really well. thanks for entering -
This is a very pretty poem. But hardly an original thought. Personally, the only god(s) I believe in (note the small 'g') are the old gods... of earth and air and fire and water. And I believe in the human spirit. However, we are not here to debate the pros and cons of belief.
These words define the poem for me:
The moon rises and sets,
the sun rises and sets,
and not much has changed

Beautiful and so true.

I like the eternal sweeping feel of this. It feels as if we are so small in an infinite universe yet of such worth for the Maker weeps, rejoices over each of us and it is our choice to make our way back to Him. Beautiful write.

I enjoyed the concept of ...
of these words ... and my favorite lines were:
"He invites, instructs,
watches, weeps,
forgives, embraces,
covers, rejoices
over each"
and with faith, hope and love we journey on ...
