IX. The Hermit! (one of my favorites! )
Symbols: Man in robes--sometimes a monk, carrying a lantern through a dark or empty place.
Meaning: Life is full of difficult questions. Who are we? Why are we here? The hermit tells us not to turn to religion, philosophy, or wikipedia for answers, but within ourselves. The lantern bobbing in the mist represents the light of his inner knowledge, guiding him out of the fog.
