Out of the Way

I’m sure you saw my eyes light up
  when you talked to me.
Your presence like a silver cup,
  your voice, cold water, gives me glee.

I love you and your funny face,
  but I don’t see me with you.
Someone else is meant for that place,
  with a heart far more true.

I love you and the way you play,
  the way you talk with me.
But the Lord told me, “Step out of the way,
  there’s someone I want her to see.”

Someone’s gonna love you
  once they catch their breath.
You will learn of love so true,
  much more stronger than death.

So I’ll just step out of the way,
  and see who He has for you,
      with a promise to rejoice that day,
        when love makes you feel new.

    Know The Feeling

    It's better if they just dump you right up front..
    but we hang on to a "maybe" when..not is the
    word. Very good expression. I "hope" I'm wrong
    about your tears.

    ! Intriguing...

    I think I kinda understand this one personally.

    It reminds me of those love/butterfly quotes: "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it is yours. If it doesn't, it was never meant to be."

    I can feel the sweetness, the innocense, the sincerity, and the agape love in this.

    Nice one, big brother.

    Love is a wonderful thing.

    When you both are in it! Sometimes you have to walk away, for unexpected reasons. This is a sad story and well told. Just enough to mold into many situations. Good luck with what you have to do! The Shaker

    Oh wow...that is awesome. I felt like God was her main "someone else". Then He'd give her a mate for life. Probably way off, but that was my interpretation. Regardless, Beautiful write!!

    Hard decision.

    This is a different kind of Love poem!
    What a hard thing to do, I wish I could of been more in tune to that voice a few times!
