Hope's Death

Laser eyesight
  cuts through cliches
  spreading selfless kisses
    along my path..
...understanding the need
    for touch and emotion
painted behind the image
  of a stranded farm
  bearing corn in its womb.

I tremble at the severe cold
  settling in the rusty houses
where I smell the birth of spring
but as I sadly breathe in
  I feel my body shudder.

~Carcass~

picked from corn fields
    moving towards trash.

My life painted in one hope
and then came the toxic nightmare
    written like unnecesary words
striked from a piece of art.

      ~no dreams unfold
  as beautifully as my death~

Author notes

prompt: toxic butterfly
Killed by the pesticides in the corn field. Just another victim of poison.
