Never expecting that you weren't meant to stay.
I wonder if you were a boy or girl.
It's sad to think you'll never see this world.
I often think of how our lives would be,
If things were different and you were here with me.
I think of the firsts we missed.
Your first steps, word, smile and kiss.
I never got to hold you or even look into your eyes.
The only thing I got was the question....Why?
Please tell me what you think

Well done
Very moving poem. It takes a lot to put this kind of emotion into words. I lost a son because the mother chose not to take care of herself and the fetus. That was over 25yrs ago, and I still have not been able to set to poetry or song. I love the lines I think of the firsts we missed.

I don't comment on alot of things... but I had to for this. Aborton is cruel!!! And this poem is a good example for how sad it can be too. You keep up the good work... loved it

so true, I wrote a poem similiar to that, but different I need to find it. the best line is one that says if things were different and you were here with me. instead of {things) you could say (times)

Written so well! I empathize. Remember that everything happens for a reason...you will have your embrace soon enough.

Expressed as only a mother who had suffered the loss of an unborn child could express it.
