Oh we often are seen
through the music we choose,
how it forms our life about us
and what we do.
To listen to the words
how it molds our minds,
what will your music do to you
through time.
Will your heart dance
and bring your soul joy,
or will you follow the bands
where hate is employed.
Or joy, love and harmony
residing in peace,
or will your music speak of death
and uncaring blind indeed.
Music should soothe the soul,
for humanity to be joyful
and reach their goal.
Yet today so many speak of
hate and pain,
tell me how will this bring joy
back again.
Choice of your life
is in what you choose,
tell me are you winning
or did you lose.
For life without music
is what we have today,
so many of our young
are being led astray.
It's subliminal yet the young
don't realize,
that through what they hear
directs their life.
How each day you fall
deeper within,
and never seeing
the devils wicked grin.
Oh today he is so happy
he got his foot in the door,
children running wild not hearing
their parents anymore.
Refusing help that comes their way,
finding themselves alone
and with addictions today.
Thousands of young people
today takes their life,
feeling alone and afraid
and such sorrow in their eyes.
Falling to the wrong crowds
and music that steals their soul,
and the children feeling unloved
and lost forever without goals.
Choices left up to the children
from a very young age,
choices that were once
through the parents made.
Choices our society has in time
lost happiness I'd say,
and through those choices
the whole country pays.
Are you unhappy
do you feel lost in time,
tell me what is your music
teaching you along the line.
Are you the child
that thinks no one cares,
then stop and think
is love in your life your choice is there.

i am SOOOOOoooo with you on this one. if i listen to heavy metal and some of that other noise we call music, my nerves are shot for days and it is very difficult to find a way back to calm.

If only people could take your words
to heart and then live the truth of them
what a wonderful world it would be
music once so powerful has lost its grip
