Hello once again to you, my beloved Muse.
Thank you for dropping by once more.
Have you truly brought the goods this time?
Have you brought the defining lines?
So patiently I have waited.
Ah, but patience is a virtue
And you are virtue personified.
It is surely I, then, who need to rethink my ways,
I who need to believe in the light
Even on the darkest of days,
As on nights that would seemingly enbomb.
For what is a poet but that he should see,
But that the light should be his shroud?
I am as a child in the morning
Eager for the sacred sanctions of the sun,
Eager for the rampant dew to traipse upon,
Eager for the butterflies to catch my eyes,
Eager for the songs one hears in the wind,
Eager to dance with the grass that sways,
Eager for the taste of honey upon my tongue,
Eager for brothers and sisters that also arise,
Eager for all that wondrous and wide,
Eager for the tears induced in beauty,
Eager for the peace of the sparrow,
Eager for the impending rain,
Eager for the garden that grows.
Hello once again to you, my beloved Muse.
For as you brought it yesterday, so today also,
So today in my moment of moments,
So today in the dreams of the child that I was,
So today in the ways of the child I yet remain,
So today in the man I have inevitably become,
So today for the boldness of the dream,
So today in the magic upon the mile,
So today in the sacred sanctions of the sun,
So today in the dew between my toes,
So today in the butterflies that catch my eyes,
So today in the songs I hear in the wind,
So today in the prayers moving me to tears.

Congratulations on winning gold. This is a splendid Anaphora - I just learned about this form today. So many of these lines could inspire a poem, or a "broken" muse.

Your wonderful poem here gives me hope that my missing muse will return with the same amount of wonder and splendor that yours obviously has. This is an amazing write! Thanks so much for entering. Blessings, Patty
