The Rooster Crows - Acrostic

The rooster crows to announce the dawn

He does it loudly, that's his way

Even wakes the neighbors up

Revelling in the start of every day

Oh for a quiet lie in bed

On a cold and frosty morn

Shame he's not still on his perch

Till a long time after dawn

Even when he's free to roam

Rooster circles the joint

Crows his bloody head off

Right at every compass point

Outside our bedroom window

With lusty voice in full cry

Shouts to us that day is nigh.

Thank you my friend for your kind comments. Feedback is greatly appreciated. We have roosters amongst our own chickens so the material was readily available for this piece.

The damn rooster is just doing what comes naturally. He is a bit of a pain when I want to lie in bed a bit longer. Cheers and thanks for commenting.

Many thanks John. In my old age I have the time and inclination to watch, and listen to our rooster every day. He follows a set pattern for his crowing. I appreciate your commenting.
