Memories Left Behind

Swatches of colours flash before my eyes
Showing possibilities
They flit like butterflies
Slightly too far from reach

Behind me
Everything moves in slow motion
Colours fragment
Until colour disappears
And it is all just a memory

I rise from the burning ashes
I leave it there
Suspended in time
Preserved in black and white beauty

Author notes

hope you find your muse...mines being missing for a while too and this is my first poem in a while...this is the quote I used

"Life is like a photograph; you develop from the negatives." -Unknown

I really liked your last two lines.
    "Suspended in time
Preserved in black and white beauty"
Anyway, thanks for sharing, definitely worth the read.
