Ode to The Soul

No words can give solace
No condolances ease the pain.
No tears will auto erase,
Your memories forever not in vain.
Time travels on as does thine soul.
Grieve not for the loss that you debate.
Tis now the bell loudly shall toll.
Give life its homage due. Celebrate.

Author notes

My Aunt Marie Plesz-Sulkay passed away January 2, 2009at age 86.
Her son, my cousin, John Earl Plesz, suddenly passed away January 29, 2009 and he was 60-somthing. I would guess at least a 24 year age gap.
I am saddened and hurt by this. Tears cannot take the pain away i know, but two deaths in the very same bloodline family in less than a month is tragic and takes its emotional toll on a family. I was close to my cousin and the last time i cried this much and as hard was when my dad passed away 11 years ago.

Thanks ahead of time for your kind words of comfort if you choose to leave them.

Patti

IN my time of sorrow i prefer no harsh critiques of this write as it is from my heart to my grieving family.Thank you.

it is hard when we lose someone and even harder when we lose more than one family member or friend but it is up to us to keep their memory alive with good memories not sad ones for we would all love to be remembered with a smile.
hard at the moment, i understand and we never forget but we do find it easier to remember after a while

  • so true

no matter what any one says, words can not take away the pain, time heals but in your heart,is always those voids.
life gets empty, for awhile, but something always creeps in and plants itself next to those empty areas, keep faith

Sad for you at this time of deep sorrow. A minister at a funeral I attended once said, "Death is God's way of rescuing us from mortality." So, in that case, we all get rescued and maybe when it happens, we rejoice for it. Still, it is so hard for us who are left behind, to say farewell.
