A spinning swirling fantasy
of neon lights all-a-blur
awakened, without simplicity
reflecting in the newfound snow.
Reflecting in the newfound snow:
a spinning, swirling fantasy,
and eyes alight
and eyes alive
and music echoing aloud-
around-
around-
and suddenly it creaks and groans
aches and mutters
sputters and moans
and grinds to a stuttering halt
every horse's paint chips
every gold bar rots
every light splits
and the music grows high, whines,
stops.
And the wheels that turned it are rusty and red
and the snow is melted
all held by a thread
and a realization
suddenly rushes to,
very nearly drowning you-
reliving the past and
resurfacing in the present.

I'm so sorry that I didn't enter in time, I really meant to but I was so busy in the week I didn't have a chance! I still wrote the poem because I was inspired by the picture, just didn't make it in time. Anyways, sorry again!
