but no precious gold or gems for me
The treasure I dig for is not precious at all
organic waste, you might say, is my sought after haul.
I am long and thin, from a tree I was made
My head and my ass are identically made!
I am not very strong, this much is a fact
most often it happens that you break my back!
I usually enter a place that's most foul
full of germs and things that would make anyone scowl.
Then broken or whole, when my task is done
the trash can I enter, my life is no fun!
Author notes
ok so, the challenge was to write about something that no one, or very few on here, have or would write about. I have done so but for some reason my muse chose to also make it a riddle, please forgive me and I do hope that, for the contest, this is ok. If not, I can complete another stanza and give away the answer. If so, please, everyone, feel free to guess what this is and I will not give it away until someone gets it correct or the contest ends! Also for the contest, this is option number 4 and this is right up my alley, I even have one friend and I that trade titles as a challenge for we both say we can write about ANYTHING! So far, I have not failed one single challenge!

You've Been Tagged
Wonderful rhyme and rhythm it flows beautifully the whole while making you think. And stumping me completely for the answer until I read your comment.
I’ve never been good at riddles and I see that hasn't changed. Terrific poem! God Bless, Jo-Ann

Tagged, you're it!!!
Great riddle poem! At first I thought it is an oil rig pump (not sure what they are called exactly.) The ones that kind-of look like dinosaurs and they pump oil from the ground.
Then, when I re-read your poem I realized it couldn't be it. The "tooth pick" guess by LadyAltheia is probably right on. It is what fits your description.
Thank you for sharing this fun riddle with us! I must admit; it dumbfounded me a little. lol's
p.s. My mistake; I see now that was you giving the answer. It is actually a toothpick. I don't think I ever would have figured that one out!

"You've Been Tagged"
This was an awesome riddle I could not figure it out. I would never have thought of a toothpick. Your poem captured me from beginning to end. Thanks for the laugh this morning. I hope you have a wonderful day, hugs Theresa
