As I pace down the path of life
I stop to look back
Staring at a book not as empty as me
Flipping through pages, tears swell my eyes
How could I read words so cruel?
Why is there so little joy?
This endless chapter repeats
Nothing but pain, anguish, loss
When will it share my fullfilled moments?
My smiles, my dry eyes
I close the book and step away
Heading back to the path of life
a journey I must inspire
There are so many chapters that are incomplete
