Many a person has asked of me
about the name that most will see;
A wingèd horse is what I claim
to exemplify me in symbolic fame.
This creature holds such mystery
with beauty that is plain to see
A dark side not quite hidden from sight
offsets the light from being too bright.
A pride of self that is not wrong
and, naturally, 'tis very strong.
Residing next to strength abounding
is a gentleness almost astounding!
Freedom soars with every beat
of melodic wings and rhythmic feet.
Childhood dreams of owning a horse,
makes this symbol perfect,of course!
These thing I've listed here today
I've strived to live by every day.
So this symbol in a form of art
I choose to wear next to my heart.
Author notes
This is inspired by a contest asking why we have our selected tattoos. For me, it goes further than simply liking Pegasus, it has become a symbol of things I have or want in my life. If I ever get gold I will share a picture of my tiny tat that rests upon my breast!

An awesome description of what is both near and dear to your heart. I myself, have a drawing that I would love to have inked somewhere that symbolizes the love that I have for my two daughters. That would mean alot to me.
