Within the silence
a tap at the window
natures tears
calling my inner soul
Taking a deep breath
smelling the clean earth
as it cleanses
away all of my webs
Nothing as magic as the rain
soft and steadly it pounds
as we sleep in stillness
the earth becomes
new once again...
Please tell me what you think

I like this. It's kind of in the same vein as my entry.
Good luck..

Ah, the wonderful cleansing powers of rain.

lines 1, 2, 7, 8 then 'soft and steadly it pounds' entire line acts as a sound word, a verb, and it shifts rythmn and flow exactly on that line but does not pitter patter but has a nice round, rolling pressure to it ... wonderful! The title actually acts as a line in the poem because the poem itself does everything but sniff the rain: the poem tells all about rain but shows about rain the title ... the smell of rain renewal.
this is fine, understated and tender work .. excellence.
