A King's Vision

Nebuchadnezzar was a cruel king of great might,
Babylon an empire by six-o-six B.C.
This king had a disturbing dream that came one night,
but he could not recall it; for it left his mind;
thus, he threatened to kill his seers ever trite.
That is, until God's favored prophet came to him
off'ring the king interpretation and mind sight.

Daniel then described a great man, a statue tall,
and Nebuchadnezzar began to remember.
Its gold head was Babylon's empire soon to fall
under Medo-Persia's strong silver breasts and arms;
thus, inferior Persians rose to the war call
to gain world power in five-thirty-nine B.C.
That is, 'til three-thirty-one, when Greece caught the ball.

This power of brass would rule 'til iron had it burned.
One-sixty-eight B.C. was iron Rome's winning year;
a beast in various forms 'til Christ has returned:
for you see, its feet and ten toes are a rude mix.
In four-seventy-six A.D. divisions churned;
ten European powers rose from the great Rome.
Still, there's the mys'try of clay and iron, a mix spurned.

Men often try yet fail to combine earth's nations,
each time seeking worldly power and off'ring peace;
but, clay and iron cannot cleave: they've diff'rent stations.
Besides, Jesus cautioned that peace would never be;
for Satan's not about to take a vacation.
In time, Christ the Rock shall strike from heaven's high realm;
His blazing return burns men and their vile bastions.

As fire goes before Him, our Lord takes up His sheep
and escorts them to the safe haven of heaven,
leaving behind dead all those who have lied and fleeced.
A thousand years we rejoice in Father's presence;
then we return with Christ, a new earth ours to keep,
where He shall reign supreme in loving calm and peace:
where there is no night and we never need to sleep.

      Hi Sis! And, we are so glad that the enemy's time is short! Thank you so much for the encouragement. So good to see you! I probably shouldn't be glad when school is out for the summer, BUT that's when I get to see and hear from you a lot more frequently. I pray that all is well.

      Luv & hugs, SisBon

      Thank you, Freed: about 30+ years in research/study and 5 years in the writing. . . not the poem but the book of prophecy interpreted.
