The Crossing

Two days in Alabama

for a child custody hearing.

My son's wife dead, his child lost,

my eyes were tearing.

As we crossed the Mississippi,

Traffic a slow moving train.

Storm clouds gathered thick,

a promise of rain.

Blinding light suddenly appeared,

A single beam cutting through black.

We both stared upward,

mouths gone slack.

My son whispered in awe,

"Is this the Rapture?"

For in the waterfall of color

Jesus' face we saw.

No one else seemed to see

for they drove on, oblivious

to that bridge of steel,

my hands tightly

gripping the wheel.

Rain began to fall

on each side of our car.

Yet not a drop touched

the vehicle, none at all.

Just the cascading light

was all we could see

until we reached

the other side, safely.

My mind often wonders

how I made it across

for I don't remember driving

that five mile span.

But God surely can!

    dearest mother,

the same who has driven your car that days has sent me to this page this morning ... in quest for guidance concerning a decision to be made, I have found your words ... the "decision to be made" has now revealed itself as a divine plan for me to which I just need to say YES ... since it is HIM who has set it all up, in order for me to agree to serve HIM, and serve through HIM ...
I will tell you about it in a private email ...

thank you so much, I knew you were the right messenger for me !!! as always ...

Well! That is really fantastic. I've heard of people putting on makeup or talking on their cell being a danger to highway safety, but Jesus appearing to drivers on bridges could really create some problems.

In my heart, I beleive I was not the one driving...God was and still is, for he always knows the way, even when we are not watching, so the other drivers were completely safe from harm. Thank you for the comment.

    Beautiful

The way you have described this is truly inspiring. I think, that within all of us their is something, and if we could only find a way to go, we would be lead perfectly. People have experiences such as yours, but you write about it so beautifully.

    Keep writing,
    Holly.

    Superb Plus +

A very fine inspirational write. Your pic reminds me of Earth Mother Religions. Your poem reminds me of Christianity, yet I believe there is an underlying "golden thread" that ties all spiritual teachings and religions together, for as I have come to believe "All is one; and One is all".

  • i don't have a comment for this except to say we all have
His grace if we only took the time to pay attention.its evident at times like yours.but sadly so few of us recognize it.i felt your wonder at the wonder of His ways and love.thank you for sharing.

    I love it

From going to the cusidy hearing then dring with the son, then not remembering about but God can, he took the wheel and got you there safely. Sad for the mom to be dead, but at least father still alive is a good thing. A pleasure to read.

These things become second nature when our spirit is awake and paying attention. You are a high spirit Helen. You know the truth as it is. very nicely written. What a great experience. Namaste

Thankyou for sharing your moving and spiritual experience. Indeed there are more questions than answers in our universe, sometimes we just have to experience them.

Any words of mine, about a write like this would just seem inadequate. It all comes from a power far greater than I could ever imagine. You were blessed. Sheila

      Sweet Sister

Even now, after several months, I still am amazed at the vision I was granted by our Father. I have wanted to share this for a long time but the time was not right. Now HE has moved my heart again. Thank you for your words of support and love.
