Something unusual, probably
you prefer something that's
not high maintenance...
Well, I'd suggest a tribble.
They're soft, furry, and cuddly;
they make a musical purr
that calms the nerves...
The only thing is: you must
remember to NEVER, EVER
feed your tribble, because a
hungry tribble is trouble;
When you feed a tribble,
you don't get a fat tribble -
you get a whole bunch of
little tribbles who eat & multiply,
By the hundreds. An unusual
species, these tribbles; best
way to explain it, is that they're
born pregnant, so watch out!

Fun! My brother was a Star Trek fanatic so I have seen way too many episodes, but the tribble episode was one of my favorites.
-
more tribbles, more troubles.

I like this instructive poetry. Keep it up!
-
Oh my, I was drawn to the title as I have friends with this surname, your poem made me smile with it's humour and creativity. We have a saying here May all your troubles be little one's, sounds like all your tribbles would be little one's lol. Well done

-
good
I think it is very comical
it is nice that you were able to use that border
it is written in free verse but it has a pattern
with the way you used the word tribble
it is cute and interesting write
good job

-
haha!
I remember the Tribbles very well, having grown up on Star Trek. Cute little furry creatures! I always wanted one. lol's best of luck in the contest. nice poem about Tribbles!
I forgot about what happens when they are fed. Funny.

-
hehehe this was cute. One of the first episodes, and I still laugh about it. I should get my daughter one as a pet, she NEVER feeds her pets, it's always left up to me or they'd croak. This would be a no brainer!

Best wishes in your contest!
*Whoot!* *Wheet!* *tweet!*

Adsaige From Winkling Says...
Darling, I am laughing hysterically,
clutching my sides. The trouble with
tribbles is they multiply two by two and
three by threes and the sad thing is
they always poke out someone's eye.
Also, in the 3 stanza, "you must remember NEVER, EVER to feed your tribble" remove the 'must or the 'to'.

-
The terrible thing about tribbles
Is feeding the fellows on nibbles
The tribble female
Is pallid and pale
And constantly simpers and dribbles.
But if you desire to pet one
I daresay that you will just get one
Though I would beware
Of that maniac stare
I know about this, as I've met one. -
LOL
This is so cute! It reminds me of the cute little gremlins you know when they get wet they multiply. Wow this is great (if they are that cute iwould probably still feed them just to have more and give to my friends)

-
It's been a while since we watched your DVDs; but then who could forget "The Trouble with Tribbles"?
-
lol
very cute, very funny. I totally agree tribbles are very hard work lol but then on some level many pets could be described as high maintenance I just wish people took this into account before buying. If people researched the pet they'd like to get we may get less abandoned animals. Very good write

-
No, you cannot have a tribble, baby girl
That's a cute poem. But they'd eat all my emergency supplies!!!
-
Oh my! No tribbles for me! My kids would definately feed a tribble and then all the tribble's tribbles and I'd have a hair-iffic mess on my hands for sure

~Genie~ -
interesting. kinda like the gremlins.
-
I remember tribbles -- I think they're related to ferbies. Your poem gave me a smile..

-
This made me smile and here's another tribble for you. I remember that episode well.
jjj

-
Rofl!!!! This is hysterical... especially for one who remembers this episode when it was fresh and new!... lolol... They bring to mind Gremlins! lolol

-
I haven't a quibble
to address your Tribbles. Life is moistly toil and tribble!
As long as it does not dribble.

-
Yay for Tribbles. I loved that episode The space answer to the bunny. I love the border. LoL, who knew William Shatner ever looked that young before he became the price negotiator

Thanks for the smile. -
Don't feed your pet?
What an emotional gut twist this pet would be. Between soft and musical purrs and starvation, and their born pregnant! Oh, my house!. . .a take over threat with just one fancyful, tinzy-winzy ball of soft cuddly fur that purrs. Uh-ah. . . No! Not for me. What a nightmare. It's all yours. Nice try.
Good luck to you anyway,
~Mary O

Certainly much more appealing than the Pet Rocks of that generation, but perhaps not as hypoallergenic? Fun pet, if one obeys your wise caution!
-
They must have been created by Venus, the Goddess does have a sense of humor, and a fertile imagination.

-
The trouble with tribbles is they have no logic so not a good pet for Vulcans
Trekkie kudos for the poem though

-
how cute soft and furry with a musical purrr what a fine pet your words create in my mind.lol
well penned

-
also note they are unsuitable for Klingons

-
awwww I want a wickle tribble, and then the house would be full of them, how cool would that be?
*steals a tribble but leaves money so she has paid*
hehe cute poem
and thankies for the tribble

-
thank the goddess
that humans are not born with the same condition
thank for reminding me of a long past fav wpisode

-
Cute poem! I think tribbles would make fantastic pets...provided you could control the mating frenzy. Grins. Write on, poet.
Blessings,
Myth

Hahaha this one made me giggle!

Now I know where the idea for Gremlins came from. This is cute and clever.

-
This is great I remember this episode - a wonderful write

-
Hahaha this made me giggle!
-
great job in writing this. I give you extra points for even knowing what a tribble is.. not a lot of people do anymore. And you are more than welcome to use my background. Great job.
-
LOL!
How did you find this contest?! Funny thing, you always wanting one of those. I almost got you a furball (fake) that you could have turned into one, but it wouldn't have purred.
-
Did you know they used to sell those things, in the magazine extras on Sundays; the colored ads that came sheet by sheet - you know what I mean? I don't know if you can get them anymore, but for a while I wanted one. Problem was, it was way too spendy for me.
-
hee hee i love this and remember watching that episode of startrek where they multiplied, and multiplied and....well i guess everyone gets the messege, kinda like a strange gremlin exept you shouldnt feed them any time day or night, but if you know where to get them i could get lots of buyers
good luck in the contest with this fun write
-
Haha I love this I am not sure if I would bring them home. But this is really cute remember do not forget to promote your pet. Good luck
