You Were Wrong For That

Your grandson's sixth birthday party
and you are a no show.
This was not about you today
and you delivered a very low blow.

You couldn't put aside your feelings
for your daughter's life style
not even to make an appearance
and put on that fake ass smile.

All because your gay daughter's lover
was going to be there as well
well mommy dearest
for that may you burn in hell.

Even your youngest daughter
and her family came
It's simply unbelievable
and you should feel such shame.

This was not about you today
It was all about Chase
He missed his grandparents there
you could see it in his face.

You were wrong for not showing up
for you I feel such disgust
to let it go without a word said to you
I feel would be unjust.

May you rot in hell
for your wicked ways
and always see the fire
behind my eyes ablaze.

    Parallel lives

girl, you are starting to scare me... we are having an 80th birthday party for mom. And her sister won't come because of a gay friend..she wants us to "uninvite" her. NO Way..but, mom will be sad if her sister isn't there. How can people be like that? I don't understand..but, thank you for letting me share your heartbreak and your strength.

Wow, you deffinately don't mince words in this one. It is a shame that adults can't put aside their differences even for the sake of children. And it seems that the older they get the more stuborn they get as well. Well written with lots of passion in every word, just what I like about your writing, lots of passion.

Straight to the point,so sad that kids have to suffer when adults dissagree.I hope that in time your mother will change her views. Very well written. Carl .
