why is it so hard to let go of the past
and let the future unwind itself
before your eyes in the present?
To let friends in the past stay there
if they are not willing to go to the future with you.
Destroying yourself with the past and not leaving anything to the future
is unhealthy yet
I am doing that with you.
My closest friend for four years and
now that I am in college away from you
and so much has happened to you,
we are drifting and I can not stop it.
Yet I want to try and keep what I had in the past
now with you.
So much has changed.
And I feel guilty for not staying home with you
and being there when you needed me the most.
Can you ever forgive me?
Can we go back to the past and be who we were in high school?
Will you still be my friend?
Or are you too far from being who you were to even remember me?
