Its not always that good guys finish last -
Sometimes they just fail to hear the cries
of another lonely heart such as themselves
A silent love hidden behind dark eyes.
Can you not hear me calling to you?
Each word you speak fills me with desire
I secretly wait in the lonely shadows
my heart singing with the love you inspire.
Your sweet spirit seems to urge me on
knowing that one day perhaps you will realize
The love you seek prays each night
that one day you'll recognize those eyes.
The eyes that haunt your sleep, they're mine
The perfume that lingers when no one is there
The soft touches that you blame on the wind
Each is a part of me, calling from Midnight's air.
Love can visit when least expected
Sometimes from one unsuspected.

I hate it when we are right in front of their faces and all they see is the friend, the shoulder to cry on, someone to complain to about being the nice guy and no one noticing them, when we are practically standing in their face trying everything but to knock them in the head saying "i'm right here...what about me!!! pick me you freakin idiot! LOL Sorry, but this reminds me so much of a few men in my life, I've a friend of many, many years that calls everyday and is almost always here that I would have practically sold my soul for just once chance, one kiss many times over through the years and still he sits lonely every night wandering why no one wants a nice, sensitive and loving guy instead of everyone dating jerks. I said, perhaps your looking at the wrong women and he said maybe I need someone sort of like you that I can relax with and enjoy life (and being brave) I said but I'm right here if you want me and he actually laughed and said "nah, we are too good of friends". It was the last time I tried lol. Men are such bone heads sometimes LOL Erm, sorry for rambling there, point is (that happened years ago and we are still friends) I totally understand this piece Very well done as usual hun

The unrelenting frustration of an unrequited love. The stuff of universally accepted poem. This was so moving, made me want to take your unexpecting suitor, turn him around, and point him in your directions and just give him a good push. May be allhe needs. Great write.

This is a beautifulm piece, although maybe doesn't flow as well as it could, although overall it does not detract from the pleasurable read.......take care

Beautifully Written
This is so beautiful! A mysterious love poem it seems. . . for a man to feel an unexpected love, coming from someone who loves him. This piece is full of romance, and you can sense a hidden love that wants to be discovered. I can almost imagine this poem being read over a soft piano tune. This is an excellent well written piece.

Yay! I get to read something from my beautiful Lady Rita!
And it's just as breathtaking as its author, this poem... your words echo some I just spoke last night to someone whose heart is still in the process of mending--I just hope that I am the right antidote. After several heartbreaking encounters (that seemed endless might I add) I was just about to say, "you know what? To hell with love and all it encompasses!" But I think I finally found a reason to believe in love again... I will not reveal his identity as of yet. It's just so I won't jinx stuff and spoil everything.
But...it's been a long time awaiting the works of your talented hand! I finally got one of my wishes! Yippee!
bounces across the room doing cartwheels lol
Many blessings,
Raven Aurora

It's so true that so many fail to realize the one that loves them is right there under their very noses. I've felt that way too many times, when I have heard someone say that they wished they had someone to love. "HELLO! I'm right here." is all I want to say, back can never muster up the courage to say it aloud.

A beautiful decription od a silent patient love waiting in the wings waiting to be discovered. But sometimes recognition needs apush in the right direction, maybe a subtle hint, perhaps one who is not expecting to find love may think it is his hopeful imagination and not the truth and may well be reluctant enough to reach out afraid he may be wrong. Loving another is a wonderful thing why do we desist from letting the person know they are loved. are we afraid of rejection. love is enough for loves sake and when it is given to one who needs it so badly then it should be declared so tha loved one can bask in its glory
