Who cares if I get rotten drunk
so I can sleep tonight
My so- called friends are missing
When I need their help to fight
My wife is off somewhere in Oz
Supposed to go see , a quack
But she's off with a bloody boyfriend
Maybe she won't come back.
I care for the kids who are with me
I drown all my sorrrows with beer
A carton a night I am drinking
Try ing to be of good cheer.
I work every day as normal
I'm not sure how I can cope
But with the kids looking up to their father
I must never lose hope.
My workmates don't come to my place
I guess they were shaggin my wife
Along with half of the men in town
Mine's a lousy bloody life.
I get the job done as I'm s'posed to
care for my kids who are there
But as for my own salvation
I just don't bloody care.

Funny isn't it how so many of us have traveled the same road. Never married again for that reason. You're shifting gears with your writing it's an interesting change. Happy trails friend.

I don't usually let my personal skelatons out, but it seemed appropriate. No, I did not pick you mind, nor shall I read your thoughts. This was my first marriage, and has nothing to do with my present situation. there was a 20 year gap that may be written in journal at some time.

Thank you for commenting so quickly. I was not sure whether to leave this poem there or delete it. It was true once upon a time but I have long moved on from there.
