I step into the room and you greet my sight
It has been years since I saw you last.
Mischievous eyes rekindle memories past
And forgotten urges surge in their might.
The sound of your voice sweet and bright
Drifts to my ears. Gripped in a reinsman’s grasp
My heart skips a beat. Devoid of repast
A veil shrouds my mind, dark as night.
Knowing my heart’s treasure is no more
A weak smile my lips feebly trace.
My emotions reel, battered and sore
As blood once more begins to race.
Boldly on unsteady legs I move to the fore
And as a friend, gently kiss your face.

Perfect... it expresses the sentiment perfectly, and I love the form. Um... can't really help you in the way of criticism, I'm afraid. Thanks for entering.
