A Coconut Tree Explores Love

Small trees spread the backyard.
Cherries tickle orange pulp
turning sour sops whisper.
Out front, a mango branch
tangles hibiscus' spine
watered with approval from
the broken pipe at the gate.

Under its broad leaves, Kerry and I
play creative cooking

with dirt, plucked bush and fake-nail flowers.

I do have to say that you are one of the strongest writers that I have had the pleasure of reading. The creativity and core of your thoughts has me in awe every time I come to read your poetry.

    This is wonderful, Stacy.

the first stanza brings to mind the imagism of William Carlos Williams and I don't say that lightly...

wow, your comments are always to the point and impactful al. i really admire williams' work, so i'm taken aback by this resemblance.

      thank you
