Stars can only shine in darkness
in light they are as invisible as
the wind
Stars can only shine in darkness
in light they are as transparent as
your breath
Stars can only shine in darkness
in light they are as crystalline as
a dream
Oh why must we wait for nightfall
when the moon is not quite full to
partake in such beauty
Stars can only shine in darkness
in light they are as opaque as
one's soul
Stars can only shine in darkness
in light they are as sheer as
fine silk
Stars can only shine in darkness
in light they are as pure as
fine wine
Oh why must we wait for nightfall
when the moon is not quite full
to partake in such beauty
This is what I wonder when I gaze to the heavens

Why?
Good question. But who can deny that a moonlight kiss can be oh so wonderful poet.
-
excellent~
I enjoyed the repetition in this poem
Why indeed do we have to wait until night?
Best of luck in the contest
