I Never Thought (That You'd Still Be Here With Me)

I've been thinking all about you
You are aways here with me don't you know
There were moments walking in pastures
It was night time when the sun went down

The stars were shining on your sweet face
And it was then I knew what was on my mind
You were always walking here beside me
I knew right then I would never find
Another some one like you to set me free
I never thought that you'd still be here with me

I have wandered upon those dark paths
I've lost my way by almost giving in
But then you found me when I was wanting
You gave me the strength and will to be free from sin

The light was shining oh so brightly
It filled me up with its soothing glow
I was blinded by my indifference
You came and showed me which way to go
It took that some one like you to set me free
I never thought that you'd still be here with me

Now I've been changed here for the better
I've been enlightened with my eyes opened wide
I have seen better days now coming
I can feel it here so deep inside

The light was shining oh so brightly
It filled me up with its soothing glow

    I like your repeating use of certain phrases, which makes this seem like a song, and the content is very thought provoking. Really interesting write, and nicely done!

    Could you please put in your AP notes what secular song inspired this, I was still editing contest when you put this in...This is very deep, I am sure that while you went though this dark time before Jesus showed up there was that song on the radio that kept speaking to you.     the poem spoke soo much about the darkness u were in and how Jesus saved u...i loved the tenderness oozing out of ur words...
