I have spoken; echoes trail the distant
corpses that stain the Earth-- cries as
thick as the fog that trips your feet while
you crunch by the sheltered rooms you
barely knew.
Silence!
Listen closely and you can almost taste
those pathetic prayers, trembled by
like a freight train-- satire drips like
blood from the young demon's tongue
and he traces your scars with his teeth
as you remember...
Suffocate as you tumble down this
road again, here in your room as the
air strangles you; reminds you that
your baby face was as empty as
the presence of a mother--
in this room

Great description and imagery. You capture the essence of the chosen prompt very well. Great imagery, good poem. Good luck in the contest, and thanks for entering.
