If I could grab the sun,
I would put the light back into your eyes.
I would sweep the darkness,
That has clouded your vision, away.
If I could grab the sun,
I would light your darkest days.
And I would try to keep them bright,
Just like you have brightened mine.
If I could grab the sun,
I would light your unknown path.
Keep you from the bends and twists,
That are hidden in the road.
If I could grab the sun,
I would push it into your heart.
Try to ignite the fire in your soul,
That was lost so many years ago.
If I could grab the sun,
I would light the way home.
So you could come back to me,
And away from that dark place.
If I could grab the sun,
I wouldn't care if it burnt me,
I'd keep holding it in place tightly,
Just for you to bask in its glory.
If I could grab the sun,
I wouldn't mind if I went blind.
I would hold it in blind faith,
And pray your still there.
If I could have the sun,
If only for a day.
I would try my hardest,
To make things right.

I like this piece, the repetition is a bit much for me, but the devotion portrayed is brilliant. The imagery is wonderful. A lovely take on the prompt.
Thanks for entering. Good luck.
