So many times I have tried.
Always in vain.
Just thinking it brings tears to my eyes.

How many times have I said
that for us to love each other
is wrong.
I am bad for you.
Yet you wont give up.
You shouldn't love me.
I shouldn't love you.
We are wrong.
So many times I have tried.
So many times we have been so close
to giving up.
to letting go.
to taking the easy road.
Always in vain,
I cant say those words.
"No, baby. Its over."
I cant bring myself to it.
Always in vain,
despite knowing that you shouldn't be mine,
I hang on, I need you,
but need me you say you do,
in reality you would be better off
if I had the guts just to do whats right.
Just thinking it brings my eyes to tears.
Clutching phone to ear,
tears flowing freely,
"We shouldn't be together..." I say
"No, please, don't do this..." he cries
"We shouldn't be together..." I repeat
"Don't do this! I love you, I love you... I need you." he tells me.
"Just wait," he says through his own tears,
"Just wait until I can hold you in my arms again...
I love you, don't do this. We are made for each other."
In vain,
I cant do it.
I cant leave him.
For I love him so much.
Too much.
Truly and purely.
Though that I know
he is better off without me,
for the world works against us,
With him hanging on,
its impossible to let go.
So many times I have tried.
Always in vain.
Just thinking it brings tears to my eyes....

Have i ever told you that your nothing short of amazing? You are. Seriously you always capture everything your feeling and stick it onto the page in those beautiful beautiful words. I wish i could write like that!

I can completely relate to this except we did end up breaking up and he has a new gf now but claims to love me sill and thinks we are meant to be so its messed up anyways this is very well written I really liked it its one of my favorite poems Ive read in a while.
