When the good old days weren't so old
And these winter winds didn't seem so cold
Cause you hung around me like this necklace of gold
So your heartbeats would warm my soul

When the Autumn falls would drop leaves of joy
And late night phone calls that we'd both enjoy
When the Spring's romance blossomed our days
Or the blissful warm dance from the Summer's sun rays

When our eyes wouldn't meet without a smile
And being apart a few feet would seem like a mile
Sharing laughs so sweet like that of a child
When our lives were complete at least for a while

Of course though this is just memory lane
The good old days before all the pain
Prior to cries and constant fighting
Never thought lies could be so heart breaking

But now the good old days are old
Part of the stories of which I told
Of my life's glories before I sold
All these memories to the days of old.

    Nice write. Congrats on the silver trophy on it. I like to think that the reason that the good old days were so great is because back then we were focused on making new good days.

    I really loved this. It was such a good take on the prompt, exactly what I was hoping for from that title! The emotion was so great!

      thank you sweetheart, i'm glad you enjoyed it so much. I don't do many contests and usually takes me a while to think of poems, which explains all the typing errors, but like i said you inspire me
