On my way home one day I saw a dog
he was chasing a slimmy green tree frog
Not so far back in hot persuit
was a priest in his birthday suit.
Next police squad car with sirens aroar,
or were they after some street whore ?
I need new glasses so I can better see,
I turned around and walked into a tree.
My day was bad, I needed some rest,
all seven senses were put to the test.
My nose was suffering from the smog,
or some farmer's loose free range hog.
Where am I now ? I might be lost again,
the sloes on my shoes are wearing thin.
I think this is the right street I'm walking,
but I don't understand any of their talking.
At my door, fast I climb up the stair
a rain clould bursts, now I have wet hair.
What more can happen to me today?
No key works, this is not where I stay ?
Off again I go, still in a foggy mindset,
I think I forgot to feed my newest pet.
The others all died of starvation,I think,
or was it the water ? I forgot their drink?
I finally stop, sit on a park bench,
reach in my pocket, find a wrench.
Ah, now I remember what I forgot to do,
I tighten up my brain, I'm as good as new.
